What we do

QCT encourages Queensland churches' journey towards unity and supports the joint witness of Christian churches in Queensland, working together on issues of mutual interest.

We do this by

  • facilitating connections between Christian churches and parachurch organisations, aswell as other faith leaders
  • building the capacity of Queensland churches to witness, minister, bring hope, and serve their communities.
  • supporting and/or leading advocacy to governments and government agencies on issues of mutual interest.

QCT supports collaboration between Queensland churches chiefly through our Commissions:

  • Joint Churches Domestic Violence Prevention Project (JCDVPP)
  • Queensland Churches Environmental Network (QCEN)
  • QCT Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander Cultural Reference Group (QCT-ATSICRG)

QCT also supports related ecumemical initiatives, including

  • Alliance of Christian REligious Education
  • Queensland Disaster Chaplaincy Network
  • The Australian Ecumenical Officers' Network (AEON)
  • The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

And QCT is active in interfaith dialogue chiefly through Queensland Faith Communities Council (QFCC).
